Samsung Rolls Out June Security Update for Its Flagship Galaxy Devices

Samsung has once again managed to beat Google in rolling out monthly security updates for its flagship devices. June is yet to begin, but the Korean smartphone giant is already rolling out the June 2021 security patch for the Galaxy S21 series and the Galaxy Z Flip 5G.

These monthly security patches aim to fix various security exploits and bugs in Android to deliver a safe and secure user experience.

Galaxy S21 and Galaxy Z Flip 5G First in Line to Get June Security Patch

As reported by SamMobile, Samsung has seeded the June 2021 security patch for the Galaxy S21 trio in South Korea. The firmware number ending with AUE8 weighs around 400MB in size. The change-log of the update is generic in nature and does not mention any other improvements.

A wider rollout of the June 2021 security update for the Galaxy S21 lineup across the world should happen from the first week of June.

Apart from the Galaxy S21 lineup, the Galaxy Z Flip 5G is also getting its June 2021 security patch in different parts of Europe. Its change-log for the update is also generic and does not mention any other changes besides the June security patch and general system stability improvements.

For now, only these two flagship Galaxy devices from Samsung are getting the June 2021 update. However, expect more flagship Galaxy devices like the Note 20 series, Galaxy Fold 2, and others to get the June 2021 security update in the coming days.

Samsung Setting a New Benchmark

Samsung has managed to set a new benchmark in terms of rolling out security updates for its devices. The company is consistently rolling out security patches for its devices ahead of Google’s Pixel lineup and before the start of a new month. And it is doing so for not just its current flagship but also its previous flagships and mid-range devices.
