Aaron Segal joined the "Bitcoin Magazine Podcast" to discuss the "bitcoin as digital gold" story. Watch this episode on YouTube Listen to this episode: AppleSpotifyGoogleLibsynOvercast One of the most important but double-edged stories is that "bitcoin is digital gold" because there is a limited amount of bitcoin that is slowly circulating through "mining." . In this very special episode of the “Bitcoin Magazine Podcast,” host Christian Keroles talks to investor, Bitcoin thinker and author Aaron Segal about the differences to discuss this story. Segal's first written contribution to Bitcoin Magazine has always been one. As soon as Keroles read the article, she immediately turned to Segal and requested an interview. Keroles believes bitcoin was once much better than gold, and describing it as gold on the internet does not make the revolution that is Bitcoin justice. Segal seems to agree. Enter “Bitcoin Information Theory (BIT)” from Segal. Segal's article frames Bitcoin very differently. Instead of focusing on digital gold, Segal delved into the fact that a Bitcoin standard would end monetary uncertainty for 100% of the planet. What does the end of monetary uncertainty mean? Segal placed this in the context of the laws of thermodynamics and entropy. He sees that the law of thermodynamics does not take into account technological progress, so he created a new formula. The basic idea is that work or energy consumption at the power of technology equals information minus monetary uncertainty. Sgal's formula is mentioned below and more in this section. Enjoy this stimulating conversation with Segal.
