Downtime: World's leading auction and real estate company Sotheby's accepts BTC and ETH through Coinbase

Sotheby's, one of the oldest and largest auction houses, announced that it will accept Bitcoin and Ether in partnership with the cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase. Founded in 1744, the company first confirmed that the first artwork to be sold for Bitcoin will be Banksy's "Love is the Air" at the next auction. Sotheby's CEO Charles Stewart said in an interview with CNBC that the decision was made based on the growing demand for digital assets.
