Coinbase lanceert’s crypto-whitwisseling in Japan

Coinbase today announced the launch of crypto exchanges in Japan, one of the world’s largest digital asset Sundays.

The launch will form part of the company’s global expansion strategy and will be conducted in partnership with Mitsubishi Ufj Financial Group (MUFG), one of Japan’s leading financial institutions with 40 million customers.

The partnership will allow Japanese customers to deposit money through Coinbase’s MUFG’s fast charging service, as the company aims for “the easiest and most reliable exchange in Japan that fully complies with local regulations.”

Earlier this month, the California-based company announced a Q2 profit and posted a record profit of more than $ 1.6 billion.

Coinbase goes Retail first
Coinbase said it would initially offer retail products based on the five largest cryptocurrencies by trading volume, with more assets and products to be launched in the future.

As Bloomberg reported, the top five supported assets include bitcoin, Ethereum, Lightcoin, Bitcoin Cash and stellar.Dec.

At a later stage, the company will seek to provide services to institutional traders and investors. Other plans include integration of localized versions of existing global services, such as expanded trading and Dec.

As a new entrant, Coinbase certainly faces stiff competition in Japan, as there are many well-known crypto exchanges in the country, including bitflyer, BitBank, CoinCheck and the recently hacked liquid.
