Adopting cryptography: bitcoin is now being adopted on a digital platform that supports popular voices in finance

Popular online mail platform Substack now accepts bitcoin payments for some of the content.

OpenNode, BTC’s payment processor, works with Substack to allow payments that can be made over the chain and over the lightning Network.

 
Substack crypto-friendly venture capital giant Andreessen Horowitz is supported by Anthony Pompliano bitcoin bulls, including the works of many popular chain analyst Willie Wu digital asset specialist provides a platform to publish.

According to OpenNode’s press release, Substack is beginning to offer bitcoin payments only to “a specific group of publications focused on crypto.”

However, if this “early trial” succeeds, access to bitcoin payments could be extended to other parts of the platform, according to Substack.

Note. This option is not yet available to all publishers.

The publishing platform, which has more than 500,000 paid subscribers, could continue to do more in crypto in the future, explains Nick Intsukki, product designer at Substack.

“Having this option will give writers more flexibility and freedom, and we look forward to more in cryptography to meet the needs of authors.”

João Almeida, co-founder and CTO of OpenNode, says bitcoin payments are a “natural choice” for writers and podcasters seeking more creative and financial freedom through the independent Substack platform.
